Calligraphy is a type of visual art. It is often called the art of writing. A contemporary definition of calligraphic practice is "the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful manner". The story of writing is one of aesthetic evolution framed within the technical skills, transmission speed(s) and materials limitations of a person, time and place.

What calligraphy looks like at Easyou School?

Our master called Mr. Zhou Yingtian (周英田先生), has taught in easyou since 5 years ago has proved to be the best calligraphy teacher loved by student from around the world. His teacher, Mr. huang leiming (黄磊明先生), is one of the most famous calligraphy master lived in Beijing.

A 12- 16 lessons calligraphy program covers:

How to choose to right instrument and material(paper, brush, ink, ink-stone)for calligraphy practice?

What is the right posture and correct way to hold the brush?

Start to practice the basic strokes(up to 12 kind of strokes in total)separately.

Learn and practice the character in student's Chinese names and pay attention to the order of the strokes.

Prepare and write student's own work for graduation.

Basic Guqin(古琴) course 4500RMB/15 lesson

Historically, the Guqin has been viewed as a symbol of Chinese high culture and the instrument most expressive of the essence of Chinese music.
You will learn the finger techniques step by step, Guqin theory will be added in when necessary, for example, Origins, legends and history of the instrument, form and aesthetics etc. upon finishing the program, You will be able to play one complete melody.

Chinese painting course 4500RMB/15 lesson

Chinese traditional painting dates back to the Neolithic Age about 6,000 years ago. The excavated colored pottery with painted human faces, fish, deer and frogs indicates that the Chinese began painting as far back as the Neolithic Age. Over the centuries, the growth of Chinese painting inevitably reflected the change of time and social conditions. upon finishing the program, You will be able to draw a complete painting.

Wushu (Kungfu) course 4500RMB/15 lesson

Wushu basics focus on different kinds of traditional and modern Wushu training for stances, footwork, kicks, hand techniques, body coordination and balance. A great number of traditional and modern Wushu bare hand and weapon routines are offered.
