Calligraphy Course 4500RMB/15 lesson

Calligraphy is often called the art of writing. A contemporary definition of calligraphy practice defines it as "the art of giving form to signs in an expressive, harmonious and skillful way". Chinese calligraphy has been practiced for thousands of years and strives to combine the optimization of writing speed, esthetics and the art of self-composure.

What do calligraphy classes look like in Easyou School?

Our calligraphy master Mr. Zhou Yingtian (周英田先生) started teaching at Easyou 5 years ago. His teacher, Mr. Huang Leiming (黄磊明先生), is one of the most famous calligraphers in Beijing.

A 12-16 lessons calligraphy program covers:

-Introduction to Chinese calligraphy

-How to choose the right brushes and other materials

-The right posture and correct way to hold the brush

-Basic stroke practice (up to 12 different stroke techniques)

-Practice the characters in students' Chinese names and learn the right stroke order

-Prepare and practice characters for students' graduation

Basic Guqin (古琴) Course 4500RMB/15 lesson

Historically the Guqin was seen as a symbol of Chinese civilization and the most expressive instrument in Chinese music.
You will learn the finger techniques step by step. Guqin history will be added in when necessary, (origins, legends, history of the instrument etc.). At the end of the program, you will be able to play one complete melody.

Chinese Painting Course 4500RMB/15 lesson

Traditional Chinese painting appeared during the Neolithic Age, about 6,000 years ago. Excavated colored pottery with painted human faces, fish, deer and frogs indicate that the Chinese began painting thousands of years ago. Over the centuries, the changing techniques in Chinese painting inevitably reflected the change of time and society itself.
At the end of the program, you will be able to use ancient techniques to draw a complete painting.

Wushu (Kungfu) Course 4500RMB/15 lesson

The basic Wushu course focuses on different kinds of traditional and modern Wushu training techniques, like footwork, kicks, hand techniques, body coordination and balance. A great number of traditional and modern Wushu bare hand and weapon routines are offered.

Other courses like Fengshui for example are available upon request.
